TrainStation Research

These are a few train stations I found for Asa's film. Namdi mentioned that he wanted the train station to be an interior, but more just a roof than a station, I thought I knew what he meant so I;ve found these pictures to try and help the rest of the group get hid meaning.

Reasearch for Deadworld

These are just a few of the pictures I've found to try and help us get towards the final look of the deadworld. I hope some of these elements will collect together in the final piece. I think the deadworld may be something that never quite decided on until; its being made and will always be evolving especially considering Asa and myself are working on it.

Concepts

I've been doing concepts for james film, including tests for the grim character and the old people. I plan to do much cooler things within maya as I think it takes me far longer to attain any kind of result like the ones I can get in maya within a hour or so. I plan to do a few more drawings but I think using maya to do concepts is a decent idea.
Here are a couple of tests I did for Asa as she liked my film from last year and thought that kind of 2d style could be very useful and interesting to incorporate into the "deadworld". So I did these cloud tests.
There just there as a start to have an idea at what the dead world is going to look like. We as a group are still a bit hazy about that but obviously this is going to be the experimental section of the film and needs to be a little bit looser than the rest. This is the part of the film I really want to be involved in because I want to do some very experimental animation and odd effects during these scenes. I've started compiling lots of photos to help the deadworlds progression.

Graveyard Shift

Here are some concepts I;ve done for James film. He's given me some responsibility regarding the graveyard and I've also done a detailed floor plan of which major decisions about the scene have been made and I will eventually model and light the whole scene as well as texture it. The scene will be pretty solid so I'll be able to paint it and make it look glorious. These are maya shots just trying to have a look at what colours we want and what kind of style we may be looking for.

This is the second stage of animatic for Asa's film. We we're sheduled to do it together at college but she's just so rushed off her feet at the minute I said I'd do all the animatic editing on my own. I'm pretty adept at after effects as well so hopefully I'll do a good job

The main problem we are having is that we thought the animatic was in for week 5 and a blockout by week 9. We now find out that these we're miss prints and it's the animatic for week 9. Our problem is that we've rushed through the storyboarding stage as a result of this and therefore our camera angles and a few quite important things got overlooked for a week or so and we're just getting back to it. I waited this week for new pictures and got the new animatic done but I still think there are a lot of wholes in it.

Over the last two weeks

Over the last two weeks I've been doing some concept pictures with James's group. I;ve done some pictures which I hope to scan in but heres some basic descriptions.

I did some sketches of possible grims, as well as some character progressions of the old people. James has asked me to design the grave yard which i will plan from next week.

I've been heavily involved in the progression of Asa's film as well James to a lesser extent. We did some storyboarding today and we hope to have everything finished by the end of the week so we can make the animatic on friday. It all seems to be going now, a bit of a slow start we now have a solid story structure and I think once the animatic is there we'll have more idea of where to go.
